Newcomer Sky Ferreira doesn’t want to reach her peak yet, because she’d rather have a long career ahead of her instead.

The 18-year-old Obsession singer explained that she has already taken four years to co-write her forthcoming debut album so is used to taking her time to perfect her music.

Sky said: “I don’t want 50 songs all out at once and then it’s like, ‘Oh well, she’s done, she’s reached her peak already.’ I don’t want to reach my peak yet. I’m willing to let it take a long time.” Continue Reading »

Sky Ferreira has released a new snippet of a song of her upcoming album. It’s called “Obsession” and it sounds awesome! Click here to go check it out at her myspace, it’s only a preview of 30 seconds but it’s worth to hear it!

‘Obsession’ was written by Ryan Tedder and will be released later this year, with her debut album slated for release on January 11th

We tipped Sky Ferreira as a “one to watch” back in January after being impressed by the eclectic selection of pop treats on her MySpace page – not to mention her willingness to chat about everything from music to Ma Ferreira’s (working) relationship with Michael Jackson to… erm… Jedward. Anyhoo, now the LA teen is finally gearing up to release her debut single – the utterly sublime ‘One‘ – we reckon a catch-up is in order. What have you been up to since we last spoke?
“The album! I’ve done a few shows but it’s been pretty much all about the album. I’ve been working on it for almost four years now, since I was 14 really, but it’s finally almost finished.” Continue Reading »
